In February 2011 I bought used Audi A3 Sportback quattro, 2.0 TDI, 140 HP. I drove this car for 4 months until it was stolen. I waited 3 months for the payment of compensation from insurance company, and then I began searching for Audi A3 or A4 with quattro of course. But Polish market is very specific, there are many offers where used cars are imported from abroad, and many of them are after crash. It is hard to find a good car, because seller always said, that his/her vehicle is in very good condition, did not have any accidents and so on. But when I checked few offers in Carfax or other database, I found that most of them had an accident or other "adventures". Poles like german cars, and Audi is happy-selling brand, so I found many offers, and even a few saw, but none of them was consistent with the description, nor was it worth the purchase. So I thought, that I should try a japanese cars. They have good opinion in terms of reliability and performance, and I like Honda Accord and Mitsubishi Lancer design. First I drove Mitsubishi Lancer with 1.8 MIVEC 143 HP petrol engine. But I was not satisfied with the performance and acceleration of this car. Similiar with Honda Accord 190 HP with automatic transmission. Next I found Lancer GTS with 2.0 engine and modified intake and K&N filter, his owner claimed, that this car has 176 HP, and in fact it was more powerful than Lancer 1.8 from dealer, which I drove before. Maybe I'd even buy, but I checked the VIN on Carfax, and it turned out that the vehicle had a serious accident and had a Salvage Title. Even drove several different cars: Seat Ibiza 1.4, Hyundai Elantra 1.6, etc., but none met my expectations. I found that I need a car does not necessarily big, but with a strong engine and good acceleration, preferably with a turbo or V6 (such as the Audi A3 3.2l). I began to get interested in cars, so referred to as hot-hatch, because this group is said to be the Audi A3. Mazdaspeed3 was hit by accident. The offer was from the vicinity, so I read a little about this car and the next day I went to see the car and to do a test drive.
This is it! - I thought. Such a modest, five-door hatchback, with the DISI turbo petrol engine with a capacity of 2.3 l, which generates 380 Nm of torque and 260 HP (190 kW). I went home with VIN number, and immediately proceeded to check it in the database. It was the first VIN, which had entries in Carfax and had no Salvage Title - hurray! The next day I called Mazda Dealership and I had a check of the vehicle before buying. There confirmed that the car had no accidents, and even heard that the car is in very good condition. So I bought this car and I became happy (so far) owner of Mazdaspeed3 which is called the Mazda 3 MPS in Europe.
